Change Windows 7 Startup Sound using Startup Sound Changer

If you have ever tried to replace the default Windows 7 startup sound with a custom tone, you probably know how difficult it is to change the startup sound as one needs to edit imageres.dll system file to make it happen.


Please note that you can replace the default startup sound with a .wav file only. So, don’t forget to convert your MP3 file to .WAV before using this tool. The tool lets you restore to the default startup sound as well.
How to use Startup Sound Changer?

Step 1: Download the Startup Sound Changer zip file and extract it to get the setup file.

Step 2: Run the setup file and follow the on screen instructions to complete the installation.

Step 3: Launch Startup Sound Changer with admin rights. Use the Replace button to browse to the custom sound file. Please note that the new sound file must be in .wav format only.

Step 4: You are done! You can always use the Restore button to revert to the default sound file.
